"Phrasing"

Back in January on the 23rd a man named Harold Easter died while in police custody. Both Fox News and CNN covered the incident, however the two articles from today are a few days apart. The Fox News article comes from September 30th titled "Charlotte, N.C., officers linked to Black man's in-custody death resign ahead of video release: reports." The article explains that the 5 officers involved in the arrest and holding of Easter were all terminated after being on administrative leave. This event took place before the video footage of Easter dying alone while in holding was released.  The video was set to be released today , and has been. The article also explains how the officers involved knew that Easter had swallowed a bag of cocaine and when he began to convulse on the floor of the room they were reported to have waited until he was unconscious to act.  CNN's covering of the story was published today alongside was the video of Easter seizing in custody and passing out as no one came to help. their article is titled "A North Carolina man overdosed in police custody. He was alone and crying out for help before collapsing." The reporting on the article came during the release of the footage and talks about what can be seen. Easter was left for 20 minutes in the room alone, he could be heard saying "You think I wanna die." and begging for water that came minutes later, making it the only interaction he would have before collapsing. CNN also reports that Mecklenburg County's District Attorney was quoted to say "that there was no way they could proved Easter would have lived after ingesting the cocaine even if he had received medical attention. This alone would allow no criminal charges to be pressed against the officers but instead for them to completely resign.
